CASCADE CORPORATION ANNOUNCES PURCHASE OF AMERICAN COMPACTION EQUIPMENT

Portland, Oregon – May 1, 2007 – Cascade Corporation, (NYSE: CAE) announced today that it has acquired American Compaction Equipment, Inc., a manufacturer of construction attachments based in San Juan Capistrano, California.

American Compaction Equipment (ACE) specializes in designing, manufacturing and marketing compaction wheel attachments used in various soil compaction applications. Its products are sold through construction dealers and original equipment manufacturers, primarily in the Western United States. The company employs approximately 20 people.

Warren, President and Chief Executive Officer of Cascade, commented: “We are extremely pleased to add American Compaction as the next step in our expansion into the construction attachment market. American Compaction is widely regarded as the top producer of compaction wheels in the industry and is a natural complement to our PSM product line. We are looking forward to growing the compaction wheel market throughout the United States.”

Andy Anderson, Cascade’s Chief Financial Officer noted: “We expect the acquisition to add between $8 and $10 million in revenue next year with operating income slightly above the operating income levels of our current business in North America.” Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
